#BodyLove 2016 – Meat snack for your beer

Most men won’t say no to meat, especially when it’s prepared as a snack to eat with beer 😛  This dish is far healthier than pizza, is melt-in-your-mouth tender AND provides a wonderful, tasty and natural source of collagen.  My man never says no to braised pork belly and looks forward to the times when I prepare it : )

I varied the recipe this time around and he seems to prefer it.  The sauce caramelised wonderfully.  The smell while cooking is utterly heavenly!  So without further ado, here’s the recipe.

Marinade

Teriyaki sauce

Japanese seasoning sauce

Mirin

Method

Poke holes in the pork belly and marinade them overnight.  Melt butter in a skillet on medium heat and brown the meat, on both sides, for 3 to 5 minutes each.  Reduce the heat to low, cover and cook for another hour to 1.5 hours.  Turn the pork belly every 15 minutes to coat it with the caramelised sauce.

You may add more mirin, teriyaki sauce or Japanese seasoning sauce as needed to prevent charring.

Once done, it’ll look glisten deliciously and sinfully and when you bite into the meat, it’ll be tender and juicy.  Wonderful snack to enjoy with your icy cold beer.

The sauce is slightly sweet.  We love it! ❤

Voila!

Wishing you fun,
