Expatriates who live in Singapore and who bother to learn about our culture will doubtless have visited food centres, hawker centres and coffee shops or a crowd favourite, Ya Kun. These places serve fragrant, buttery local coffee and the best breakfast ever – 2 soft-boiled eggs drenched in dark soy sauce and pepper.
Lucky me gets to eat it at home because nobody prepares them as well as my man : ) On some weekdays and weekends, he pampers me with a delicious morning meal : ) It sure puts one in good spirits for the rest of the day! Eggs are a rich source of protein and are very nutritious. They’re good for the heart too! : )
Soft-boiled eggs prepared this way is also a yummy way to reward ourselves after our weekend morning exercise : ) A breakfast like this never fails to elicit a sigh of satisfaction and comments like “This is so good!” 😛 Westerners may wrinkle their noses, but don’t diss it till you’ve tried it!
Just break those fragrant yolks, mix them with the dark soy sauce and pepper and…………. slurp everything down!!! Careful now, you might be as addicted to this eggy goodness as much as Singaporeans! 😛
Wishing you fun,
