Smoked duck and teriyaki sherry eggplant

The Great Singapore Sale (‘GSS’), held from late May to early July every year, is when most women max out their credit cards.  I went a tad berzerk and bought 5 pairs of shoes within 1 week!!!!!  They’re too pretty to resist; and, besides, leather shoes are frequently more expensive, so the sale is the best time to buy them since prices are slashed.

Here are some of my gorgeous buys 😀  I’ll share the python print pair once I get around to wearing it!

Ok, the above is unrelated to cooking, but it’s erm, a slice of life too 😛  Women love shopping and we love shoes!!!

This dish is very quick and easy to make.  It’s a cheat dish when you don’t have much time.  Buy smoked duck from your supermart and eggplant.  A friend introduced a novel way of preparing and eating the veggie.  Bung an eggplant into the oven and bake till soft.  Once done, slice it in half and scrape out the flesh, discarding the skin.

In a pan, heat butter and fry the eggplant flesh, tearing it into shreds with chopsticks.  Add some soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, a few drops of sesame oil, ground black pepper and sherry to taste.  Spoon onto a serving plate and serve with smoked duck slices.  There you have it, a very tasty dinner!

Wishing you fun,
